Please come join me as I launch my two new books!
My new YA Novel / Rose Sees Red (scholastic press)
Set in New York in the 1980s, this story of two ballet dancers (one American, one Russian) recounts the unforgettable night they spend in the city, and celebrates the friendship they form despite their cultural and political differences.
And my first Picture Book / Grandma’s Gloves (candlewick press)
Grandma is always on her knees in the dirt, with her gardening gloves on, talking to her roses and laughing with the birds-of-paradise. A day comes when Grandma is no longer there to care for the little girl, who feels sad and small and alone until she remembers all that her grandmother taught her — and all that she now has to teach.
Since Rose Sees Red takes place in 1982 and Rose goes to the High School of Performing Arts, there will be a special reading of Rose Sees Red with fellow classmates of mine from PA. (Mason Bendewald, Rhonda Christou, John Maraffi, Alex Desert, Desiree Titone, Shula Van Buren)
Also, there will be wine and treats.
Saturday July 24th
Be there, or be square!
